Tullamore Dew Black 43
Released in limited batches, Tullamore Dew Black 43 is a premium triple distilled blend, enriched by specially selected, spicy, full flavoured Pot Still whiskey aged in Old Oloroso sherry casks.
The Characteristic smooth taste of Tullamore Dew is thus intensified, resulting in a singularly rich and complex expression of this legendary Irish whiskey. Triple Distilled, Matured and Bottled in Ireland at the higher than usual strength of 43% Vol.
This is a seductive and quite intense whiskey – spices, caramel, sweet vanilla notes and a touch of orange peel on the nose – it reminded me immediately of the spice stalls in a Jerez market. The taste and finish are classic smooth Tullamore Dew, but with more sherry, spice and pot still notes, giving it depth and undeniable added complexity.
